Support future environmental leaders

People of all ages and backgrounds come to GFE looking not only for garden education but also to build meaningful connections.

Since 1990, community support has made GFE the heartbeat of San Francisco’s environmental movement. As a small non-profit, we rely on donations from everyday people to teach more than 2,500 children and adults each year.

Last year alone, your donations supported:

2,500

children and adults engaged in hands-on environmental education programs

3,179

volunteer hours logged across 90 garden workdays.

600

pounds of garden-grown food donated to people with food insecurity.

1,200

Get Up! student hours spent supporting local organizations.

Donating to Garden for the Environment extends beyond our garden by empowering environmental advocates to make an impact in their own Bay Area communities and neighborhoods.
