SF Solar Map

SF Mayor Gavin Newsom pledged this week to make SF Government Carbon Neutral by 2020. Very cool.

Thinking of going Solar in SF? Check out the SF Solar Map, a comprehensive map of residential , commercial and municipal solar activities. Very cool.

Forever Landfill

Jared Diamond, in a recent op-ed in the NY Times "What's Your Consumption Factor?", writes about the difference in consumption between the first and developing worlds. Jared Diamond writes, "If the whole developing world were suddenly to catch up (to first world consumption rates), it would be as if the world population ballooned to 72 billion people (retaining present consumption rates)."

Consumption aside, where will we put all that stuff? No worries, we have Forever Landfill. This tongue-in-cheek website offers personal landfill plots, so you can dispose of as much trash as you want. Because, in their words, "Zero waste is zero fun."
